Aynur Uluatam Sumer (Board Member) is an Economist and Financial Specialist. After graduating from Ankara University, Siyasal Bilgiler Fakultesi (SBF), she worked for the State Planning Organization (SPO) in Turkey. She later joined The World Bank in Washington DC, as a Lead Economist and Mission Leader and covered the developing economies in Europe, Asia and Africa. She is an AFS and Fulbright Scholar. She holds an MS degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University, and an MA degree in Public Policy and Finance from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Aynur Uluatam Sumer is the author of numerous books and articles published by the World Bank and a book titled, “Monetary Multipliers and a Self-Generating Inflation Model for Turkey” published by the SPO. She was a candidate for a Parliamentary seat in the Turkish Parliament in 2002. She later functioned also as a free lance writer and wrote various economic and political articles for Yarimada Gazetesi in Bodrum. Ms. Sumer received numerous “excellence” and “recognition” awards from the World Bank, as well as, one of the “best in its category” awards from Mugla News Organization, in 2007.
