ASA celebrated “May 19 Youth and Sports Day and Ataturk’s” with two events. First celebration took place at the Ataturk Statue in Washington, DC. The second event took place at the American University, attended by a large crowd of ASA members and guests. The program started with ASA Executive Board member Filiz Odabas – Geldiay’s welcome speech, and was followed by
- Dr. AYSEGUL DURAKOGLU, who spoke about Ataturk’s reforms, and the importance of Art as part of the reforms.
- Young Turkish Violinist YIGIT KARATAS’ amazing performance AND ASA’s “2018 ATATURK YOUTH AWARD” recipient
DILEK LIVANEL’s inspiring, brilliant and informative presentation which lifted everyone’s spirits and trust in Ataturk’s youth!
The day of celebrations ended with a birthday dinner for Atatürk.
