His principles and reforms constitute the "Founding Principles" of modern, democratic and secular Turkish Republic, established on October 29, 1923 with his leadership. A great statesman, leader and reformer, Kemal ATATÜRK converted a backward, illiterate, Islamic society to a modern, progressive, literate and secular (laic) Turkish nation.
